Kyle's Designs started as an idea back in 2023.
Hey, I'm Kyle – the designer, maker, and pilot behind the YouTube channel HotLapKyle. I specialize in creating high-performance, 3D printed RC planes that push the boundaries of what's possible in the skies.
What started as a passion for flight and fast laps turned into a full-on obsession with design, aerodynamics, and rapid prototyping. Using 3D printing technology, I design and build custom RC aircraft—from sleek racing wings to scale warbirds and experimental jets—sharing the entire journey on my channel.
In January 2024 Chris Parent, an engineer by trade, joined me and started making a big impact on helping with his over 15 years of 3D printing experience by creating the fastest and cleanest LW PLA profiles on the planet. Chris has helped fans of Kyle's Designs with their 3D printing issues and been a key player in keeping things running smoothly. In under a years time, he transformed from never having flown an RC plane to designing and winning an award for his first design, the Dassault Rafale.
Later in 2024, Thomas Heuer and I teamed up to take on some advanced engineering design problems. A few much loved designs have been produced from this partnership.
