Update Nov 1st 2024!
Important setup before flight on V2-
Please see the two photos I’ve marked up showing the proper up trim for the elevons. This eliminates porpoising.

Left elevon 62mm
I went back to the drawing board and totally redesigned the Batwing 100%. My goal was to make a batwing that could hand launch easier and fly like a normal EDF. Its perfect now! the key to easier hand launches was the twin 40mm fans and the thrust angle. I also changed the airfoil, this provided better low speed flight performance. I also changed the fuselage so you can run a 1300-2200 4s and have it balance. The new design

Ive been on the Batw#ng journey for about 20 years. Started as a foam board flying version, moved to a carved foam EDF version and a few others that were unsuccessful along the way. I'm so happy to say i've fulfilled my dream of making a semi scale version finally fly! and FLY WELL! this model does NOT need a gyro or flight controller. If you decide to use one thats awesome.
The model flies very well. its fairly easy to hand throw and it lands with a flare at the end. If you watch my videos, the "plop" landing is the way.
Parts needed:
1. Amazon Powerfun/ hobbyfun 50mm (4s) with lip. its designed to fit this. Xfly 50mm 4s.
2. 40-50 amp ESC
3. 2 metal gear 9g servos
4. velcro
5. 10-12mm magnets
6. any 4s 330g or heavier battery! you must have enough weight to balance.
Center of Gravity is located right where the front of the wing meets the intake body. See photos for a visual.

The whole plane can be built in less than 1.5 hours
NOTHING will be a cooler plane at your flying field. To my knowledge nobody has successfully flown a true airfoil 3d semi scale batw$ng successfully. There was a guy that made a large turbine version and I never saw it actually fly. Either way, it blows your mind seeing it float by. I hope you enjoy this. I really want to see your versions flying. Anyone, who posts a video of my batwing flying around successfully gets one free file from my designs. you pick!

I fit mine on a 250/250/250 bed but if you have a 220/220/220 it should fit fine, just angle the wide parts.
