This design really surprised me. So many planes that I loved and wanted to design were simply not possible until I
found the Xfly 40mm EDF and the 4.3g servos. Thanks to these fantastic components we can design models like the C17. Thomas Heuer as co-designer took on the plane, and that's how the Deluxe version was born.
The C-17 Deluxe Version is only (40" x 40") 104 long x 107cm wide and weighs only 1000-1200g ready to fly, depending
on the equipment. It is extremely compact and handy. It is easy to start by hand and lands slowly and easily enough.
Ground takeoffs are possible from asphalt or foil. On grass you need very short grass and enough distance! It has a
great flight pattern and is a lot of fun!
The Deluxe version includes several options for printing and building the plane! Please remember that if you install all
the options, you will have 9 servos on board, which also need to be supplied with sufficient power!
You can build it as follows:
With and without rudder (but steerable nose wheel)
With flaps or flap mix
With a functioning cargo door
I recommend a programmable remote control so that you can program the paths and mixes individually.
This deluxe version (Servos only for Information what you need):
Ailerons (2 servos 9g)
Elevator (2 servos 4.3g)
Rudder (optional fixed vertical stabilizer to save a servo) (1 servo 4.3g)
Scale winglets and rudder top
Landing gear with steerable nose wheel (1 servo 9g)
Wider aileron for flap mix (recommended)
Flaps optional (max 7-10 degrees recommended due to the pressure of the EDFs) (2 servos 9g)
Functioning cargo door with cable duct (unhindered drop) and modified interior (1 servo 9g)
Structures and lettering
