This has been the most requested plane for the past 3 years. I’ve been hesitant due to the wing shape and horizontal tail situation. I’m so glad I waited and used what I’ve learned over the years to do the F4 justice. You won’t break the tails landing and it’s light weight compared to other F4 designs.

Thanks to Simon for starting this challenge. It was super fun and I’d participate in any upcoming challenges. I’m not new to speed jets and I already have a jet (psycho) 90mm that’s been well over 200MPH so I’m familiar with how to make them work. This airframe shows definitive evidence it will surpass the Psychos top speed.

I had very little expectations going into this that the flying shark would fly as well as it does. It’s amazing how efficient fast and smooth this thing flew. It really comes down to millions of years of evolution in the design. It feels super floaty and on rails.

This project was a surprise, I’ve avoided the design because the airplane has a challenges. The intakes are way too small and the exhaust is too small. Nothing really fit right. After some planning I figured how to make it all work. The real question is how would it fly? To my surprise it flew great! It flies like an edgy trainer jet. I’d imagine that’s what it was intended to feel like.

By far the YF-23 has been one of the most tricky designs to get flying without the help of a gyro. I’ve made around 4-5 fully new airframes to get this to fly right. Of course the coolest looking 5th gen fighter is the impossible to tame beast. I finally figured this bird out. Keeping the airframe totally scale will absolutely require a gyro to fly.

I’ve always been searching for a simple easy thrust stand and I’ve never found one. Especially for 50 mm fans that typically don’t have any mounting tabs. This Russ stand is fully printable in PLA. It comes with three different sized rings. The large ring fits Motors like Power fun and QX. The small Fitz fans like X fly and FMS.
